Fake Windows 10 security update installs ransomware

BleepingComputer.com reports that many Windows 10 users have recently seen their devices infected with the Magniber ransomware while trying to install a security update.
Most ransom demands have been approximately $2,500 or 0.068 bitcoins.
This campaign primarily targets students and consumers rather than enterprise victims.
